Slumby Recaps

I’d just like to thank all the people who came out and braved the weather on Saturday. Despite the unfriendly conditions everyone seemed to be making the most of it and having a good time which was greatly appreciated. The bands were fearless – Bob City absolutely killed and I have to say that I witnessed some of my favorite sets ever by You’re So Bossy, Church of the Red Museum, Moviola, Jordan O’ Jordan, etc. – and I can’t thank all of them enough for risking life and limb by playing the rock & roll with lightning conductors in their hands. I’m sorry that the BBQ, the P.I.G. tourney and the dunk tank never really got going. Damn the downpour! Fortunately, we did have the inside hoppin' and by all accounts we were at capacity for most of the night. White Rabbits were fun (the 20 seconds I saw them) and we all know that The Unholy Two delivered. The people seemed to enjoy themselves. We’ll do all of this again someday (hopefully) and next time somebody owes us a whole lotta sunshine.

P.S. An extra special thanks to Mark Miller (of the Guitar Shoppe just South of Henderson on Kenny), Erik Alder of Midwest Prosound, Renee, Heidi, Sara, Erin, James, Pat, Sean, Antonio, Lizard McGee and the Principal Jeff Scofield, as well as, the fine folks who donated canopy tents – without your support and hard work (way beyond the call of duty) we really would have been in some serious trouble.
