One way to confuse those who are against horror remakes is to redo your own film in a different language. That's what writer-director Michael Haneke, who last offered us Cache, is doing here to his 1997 thriller, which he called an "anti-Tarantino film" in its desire to torture, not entertain, its audience. With Naomi Watts and Tim Roth in lead roles, and Michael Pitt as one of the aggressors, we're hoping all B- and C-level horror directors will study this film as they make their next projects.
