Things To Frighten Fern:

never happened, but it makes you wonder what is really going on in germany:

The Dumbest Ideas Ever Uttered in German Politics

By Charles Hawley

Part 6: Slap a Tax on that Pizza!

One of the most absurd ideas in German political history comes from a previous agricultural expert who found his political home with the conservative Christian Democrats. Gottfried Haschke wanted to "do something for the German cuisine" in 1994. Not satisfied with the number of bratwursts and dumplings on offer, Haschke proposed imposing a penal tax on restaurants in Germany that didn't have at least one traditional German dish on the menu. A storm of protest resulted with Haschke being accused of racism and xenophobia -- and his idea itself went down in German political history as the "pizza tax." It never came to pass.

That won't scare Fern. A pizza covered with spiders would though.
