This guy is basically saying what some European countries have already done, but kudos to him for coming out and saying what he thinks.
I totally agree with him that "hard" drug addiction is a public health concern, not so much a justice and border control problem. Our country dumps countless millions down the toilet to support special anti-drug operations both within and outside our borders, criminalizing people who don't really do any harm. It'd be nice to see some of that money go into our national healthcare system to rehabilitate those who need it and to finally get our social health system inline.
Of course, this is all coming from a guy who doesn't do any drugs except drinking coffee or the occasional 8 pints of Guinness (Lord Hall @ Little Brothers).
