So, who is going to see Grindhouse tonight? I’m hitting up the 8PM show at Lennox. Got my ticket yesterday. Yes, I am a nerd. Deal with it!
Also, did you hear how Rose McGowan broke up the sixteen-year marriage of director Robert Rodriguez and wife Elizabeth Avellan during the filming of Planet Terror? Turns out Rodriguez really likes machine guns up his pooper. True story! It's a scene in the movie (whoops! spoiler alert!) Gossipy gossip!! I’m no Liz Smith-Casablanca, that’s for sure.
Anyway, the point is, who’s going??

As a whole, I give it a solid 87%. While the movie Rodriguez directed was dirtier with scratches and jump cuts and a little more of what I expected going in, I think I probably enjoyed Tarantino's movie a touch more even though it was put together a little nicer. Kurt Russell put it over the top. I really hope this creates a new trend of movies going back to 70's-style over-the-top sensationalism -- it's hilarious.
