Liberate The Feet of the Teens

Here's the trailer for the documentary Silver Jew, directed by Michael Tully and produced by Matthew Robison. The film’s world premiere will be at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival sometime between March 9th and the 17th. The official schedule won't be released until February 15th –- I’ll try to remember to post the date for this in the comments once it is announced.

Silver Jew follows David Berman and his band the Silver Jews last year in the midst of their first-ever world tour. Along the way, the band stopped off in Israel to play two shows in Tel Aviv and visit Jerusalem.

So, is this a classic roc doc or something more cerebral? "It's a hard one to describe, because it incorporates so many different elements,” said Tully. “Yes, it's a tour document, and, yes, it's a travelogue, but ultimately it's the story of an individual who has found peace within himself, with the help of newfound faith, a loving wife, and creativity.”

If you can’t get down to Austin for SXSW maybe you can catch Silver Jew at one of these other nice locales:

Sarasota Film Festival (April 13-22, 2007)
Nashville Film Festival (April 19-26, 2007)
Independent Film Festival of Boston (April 25-30, 2007)

As for the band, word has it they are currently hibernating and preparing to write the next record.
