In Theatres This Weekend

The political crockpot is boiling over in theatres this weekend (and the GOP will have you know it certainly is fishy that these films are coming out right before Halloween).

First is Shut Up And Sing which chronicles the rise and fall in popularity of top-selling country music darlings, En Vogue, after lead funky diva Cindy Herron mentioned on stage at a now infamous sold-out 2003 London concert that “This President of ours… my lovin', he ain’t never gonna get it!”.

Also on the big screen is a political thriller that sent shockwaves through Europe upon its screening earlier this year. Death of a President mixes archival footage with narrative elements, examining the aftermath of the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush in the style of a retrospective documentary. The spooky thing is the film is scored by none other than En Vogue. Conspiracy? You be the judge (and the jury).

If you don’t want to go out and get your anti-Bush on than perhaps you might consider these other films on Friday: Christmas at Maxwell's, Catch a Fire, Babel, Cruel World, Cocaine Cowboys and Saw XXXVIII.

Free your mind and the rest will follow.
Be color blind, don't be so shallow.
