Germany vs. Italy

For a lot of you I know the World Cup ended when Reyna goofed against Ghana and the Americans were subsequently eliminated from the tournament. But, believe it or not, the World Cup goes on and today pits Italy versus host country Germany (ESPN, 2:30 ET) for a chance to go to the Finals.

History favors the Italians as the Germans have never won against Italy in a World Cup match (two draws, two losses). But, to me that just says they’re due.

And remember now that both Brazil (sorry Kev) and Argentina have lost, if Germany can get by this very talented Italian squad, my prediction of them winning it all is one step closer to being realized.

If that happens, I think somebody will owe me a beer.
