Rollercoaster Kids

Brazil's Bonde do Role (literally “The Rollercoaster Band”), who Rollingstone.com touted as one of the top ten groups to watch in 2006 and who The New Dark Ages currently tout as the first band to ever sample Alice in Chains and not make us want to turn off our record players, will drop Vamos Do Role on the world this October. It will serve as their debut LP and the first full-length release on DJ/Producer Diplo's Mad Decent imprint.

Diplo calls these guys “a sort of baille funk Beastie Boys... a kind of beautiful mess”. You can witness the beautiful mess and the party-starting mix throughout July as they tour North America with label-chief Diplo and CSS in tow.

Attendance is highly recommended for any New Dark Agers whose idea of a good time might involve blaring comically vulgar shout-rapped Portuguese lyrics about drugs and pop culture over a Smiths loop and a breakbeat. I’ll see’em at Pitchfork.
