National Day of Slayer

Today, while the world is off searching for Satan, you really need to look no further than Slayer. Some maniacal fan has deemed 6.6.06 the National Day of Slayer prompting millions of the band's fans to take the day off work and blast Reign in Blood without headphones.

Though it's been a while since they've released something quite as visceral, they are undoubtedly still vital. In 1988, all that could be heard on my Walkman was this album and Public Enemy. I remember vividly, being 11 years old, flying on a plane to Germany, reading along to the lyric sheet. Maybe I could sue them for all the damage they've done.

Nevertheless, the image above is the cover to their latest, produced by Rick Rubin, and according to the band, "heavier and faster than anything they've ever done." Is that possible?
